Rules of photography (extended) Notes

Depth of field (shallow and wide) -What is in focus

Light (angle and intensity) -angle and where the light comes from pays a crucial role in photography. The intensity is how bright it is. The more intense the light, the more the shadows.

Shadows -The absence of light. Where there is light, there will be shadows.

Diffusion -to blend / soften / change the intensity of light

Exposure -How the picture looks to our eyes. wether is it light, dark, or in between.

Aperture (f-stop): In the lens (how big the opening is inside the lens) *I will control this from now on

Shutter speed: Inside of the camera. The shutter is a mirror, and the shutter speed is how fast the mirror opens/closes. *I will control this from now on

ISO: the sensor inside of the camera, and how sensitive it is to light.  *I will control this from now on

Types of Lenses:

Telephoto: allows to zoom in closer to the subject.

Prime: doesn't zoom. It is fixed to a certain length.

Wide angle: Wide angle (160 degrees of a viewing angle.)

timeliness- how much time ago

proximity- how close to your world

conflict- problems

human interest- interesting

prominence- how important (what you rather take a picture of between two things)

impact- thrill, shocking *OMG moment
