American Soldier slide show & Captions

A. In my opinion picture num,her 4 is the most powerful. Why? Because it captures a lot of the emotion both Ian and his girlfriend where going trough at that last day before Ian had to depart to the army. The kiss that was captured also helped the image become strong. The picture looks very good to.  It's very clean, it's simple enough that the subject is easy to see.

B.  #1 -At home in Denver: #'s 1-9
#2 -At basic training: #'s 10-48
#3 -In Iraq #'s 49-76
#4 -Back in Denver #'s: 77-83

-I think the last set of images where the most powerful because they where the most emotional one. They where the set of images that captured the most emotion in them, and that made them very very strong.

C. The images work together to tell a story by being in order from the beginning to start. It starts from when Ian is still in Denver to when he comes back to Denver. It has a beginning, middle, and end.

3A. Present Tense

B. The captions have different tenses. These tenses add different feelings to the pictures. For example, the present tense gives a more Vivid feeling to the pictures. It makes the pictures come to live, and engages the audience to the direct moment of when the pictures where taken. The past tense creates a more emotional feeling, which makes the audience more aware of how the people in the images felt during these situations. Also, the captions add a lot of information about all the images that wouldn't be able to be known if they weren't there.

4.
image#63:
Ian lays on his bed faced up in an alarming manner while secretly talks on the phone to contact his girlfriend late at night during a break.

image#62:
A little kid stood in front of a ruined house located on a clearing that had parochially been destroyed by bombing near by on a clear blue day.

image#56:
Ian sits on the edge of his bed quietly and carefully looking at a picture of his mother early in the morning before heading for training.

5A. The Video enhances the photographs because you can actually listen to what the people have to say, and you get a better sense of what they had to go trough. The video simply makes you get a better idea and picture of the situation.

B. The Video is better because, for example, You can actually listen to what Ian has to say. You discover that he was very sad about leaving his family and friends behind.

C. The images are better because, for example, you can take MINUTES looking at the picture of Ian's mother tears, and in the video even though you can go back as many times as you want, you can't appreciate a second of the video as good as you can in a picture. Pictures give you more visual details.
